Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference delegation visits Ha Long Bay
A delegation of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited the UNESCO-recognised Ha Long Bay and the Quang Ninh Museum in the northern border province of Quang Ninh on November 29 as part of a friendship exchange programme with the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.

Quang Ninh (VNA) – A delegation of theChinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited theUNESCO-recognised Ha Long Bay and the Quang Ninh Museum in the northern borderprovince of Quang Ninh on November 29 as part of a friendship exchangeprogramme with the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.
The Chinese delegation expressed their surprise at thebeauty of the bay, and their impressions on the unique architecture of themuseum, as well as precious objects and documents on display.
The trip is expected to contribute to strengtheningfriendship and exchanges between the two sides, consolidating cooperation inall fields, especially tourism, and pushing ahead with the implementation ofhigh-level common perceptions, thus fostering the Vietnam-China relations in astable, healthy and sustainable manner in the time ahead.
The formation of Ha Long Bay dates back over 500 millionyears and the limestone that is found in the bay began forming around 340million years ago. Over time, the bay has gone through countless changesresulting in its today’s magnificent natural landscape. Its core area, whichhas been recognised by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage, is 434sq.km andcomprises 775 limestone islands and islets.
The Quang Ninh Museum was opened to the public inOctober 2013. It was designed by Spanish architect Salvador Perez Arroyo whogot his inspiration from coal – the province’s signature mineral.
The museum is famous for being covered in 14,000square metres of tempered glass, which reflects its surroundings and HaLong Bay./.
The northeastern province of Quang Ninh's economy has seen double-digit growth for eight consecutive years, and that momentum will continue this year thanks to appropriate policies and synchronous measures.
