Up to 183,000 Chinese tourists are expected to visit Thailand during this year's Golden Week holiday, representing an 88% recovery from 2019, generating 5.1 billion THB (150 million USD) in revenue, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

Thailand's economy is predicted to experience a boost in the second half of this year, driven by a surge in tourism and domestic consumption, according to the Economic Intelligence Service (EIS), a research unit of the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI).

Thai Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said new measures will be announced next month to woo tourists back to the country, especially those from China, in the lead up to the New Year.
