Children exchanges promote Vietnam – Laos friendship

Dak Lak (VNA) – Officials of DakLak, on August 16, received delegations of Vietnamese and Lao children who are takingpart in a friendship summer camp in the Central Highlands province.
At the reception, Vice Secretary of theprovincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong said exchange activities amongchildren from both nations have fostered traditional relationship andcomprehensive cooperation between the two parties, governments and people.
The exchanges also help implement jointprogrammes between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Lao People'sRevolutionary Youth Union, he added.
Cuong asked the children to make an effortin learning and contributing to their homeland as well as to bilateralrelations.
On the occasion, Cuong presented Dak Lak’sinsignia to the Lao children delegation.
The 2017 Vietnam – Laos friendship summercamp took place in Gia Lai, Kon Tum and Dak Lak provinces in the CentralHighlands and in Khanh Hoa province in the central region from August 13 to 17.It has created a playground for Vietnamese and Lao kids to involve in variousmusical, cultural and sport activities.
The camp is part of activities incelebration of the 55-year diplomatic relations between the two countries.-VNA
The embassies of Vietnam and Laos in Japan held a people-to-people exchange programme in Tokyo on August 10 to mark the 55th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties and 40 years since the Treaty on Amity and Cooperation was signed.
Forty young Hanoians are going to carry out voluntary activities in Vientiane, Laos, as an illustration of the youth’s efforts to nurture the friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
