Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro ticket rates proposed

Hanoi (VNA) – The HanoiPeople’s Committee on March 3 proposed subsidised ticket rates on its firstmetro project – the Cat Linh-Ha Dong elevated railway – when the metro opensfor commercial operation next month.

A single ticket is priced at 15,000 VND (65 UScent) per person traveling the whole metro line and 8,000 VND for travel fromone stop to the next. A daily ticket is 30,000 VND (1.3 USD), including anunlimited number of trips. A monthly ticket will cost 200,000 VND (8.62 USD).

The proposed prices will apply during thepilot period and would then be adjusted. However, the duration of the pilotperiod has not been confirmed.

The Cat Linh-Ha Dong line runs 13.5km with 12stations, including Cat Linh, La Thanh, Thai Hà, Lang, Thuong Dinh, Ring Road3, Phung Khoang, Van Quan, Ha Dong, La Khe, Van Khe and Yen Nghia.

The track is designed for speeds up to 80km/hand trains would run every 3-5 minutes.

The 886 million USD project was originallyslated to begin operation in 2016 but multiple setbacks pushed the date back tothe end of the first quarter of 2019.-VNA
