Can Tho represents Vietnam at Belgium trade fair

Belgian Deputy Prime MinisterAlexander De Croo, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Pham Sanh Chau andVice Chairman of Can Tho city People’s Committee Truong Quang Hoai Namcut the ribbon to kick off the fair, one of the major trade events inEurope.

As many as 50 enterprises from Can Tho are showcasingvarious kinds of products ranging from seafood, green tea, coffee,processed farm products, electronics, logistic and tourism servicesacross 38 booths at the 9-day fair.

The eventoffers a good chance for Vietnamese city’s firms to promote the image ofCan Tho and Mekong Delta provinces and their potentials for economicdevelopment to business associations, importers and investors in Belgiumand those from Europe, while calling for more foreign investment to theregion.
The fair also serves as a venue helping participating enterprises seek cooperation opportunities and establish partnership.

Talkingwith Vietnam News Agency’s correspondents in Belgium, Deputy PMAlexander De Croo said his country and Vietnam have a great potential tobolster cooperation in the fields of agriculture and aquaculture, whichare strong sectors of Belgium.

According to Vice Chairmanof Can Tho city People’s Committee Truong Quang Hoai Nam, businessesoperating in Can Tho want to forge links with firms in East Flanders andEurope, and they hope that many contracts will be inked at the fair.

Inthe framework of the fair, an investment-trade-tourism promotionconference will be held to introduce projects that Can Tho and otherMekong Delta localities are calling for investment.

Vietnamese enterprises are also scheduled to make several market study tours to a number of European countries.-VNA
