Campaign calls on community to clean sea

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Vietnam Television organised a ceremony on June 19 on Sam Son beach of central Thanh Hoa province to launch a campaign to clean the sea at the national level.

Thanh Hoa (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) and Vietnam Television (VTV) organised a ceremony on June 19 on Sam Son beach of central T꧒hanh Hoa province to laꦍunch a campaign to clean the sea at the national level.

The campaign will be implemented from June 2016 to June 2019. It was piloted in four central coastal provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue, and produced positive results.
First Secretary of the HCMCYU Central Committee Le Quoc Phong said that the campaign aims to raise public awareness of cleaning the sea and preserving the maritime environment.
In response to the launching ceremony, around 28,000 youths, volunteer students and soldiers in 28 coastal provinces and cities participated in collecting garbage on beaches. A music festival was also organised on Sam Son beach to call on the community to join hands to clean the sea.-VNA

Vietnam ramps up plastic wast𒐪e recycling, reuse, treatment🔥 efforts

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public. Other localities—such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City—have also effectively implemented waste-sorting initiatives at source, along with models for plastic-free markets and urban areas.

Renowned artists including Ha Anh Tuan, Den Vau, and Phan Manh Quynh, along with many directors and attendees, took part in planting hundreds of rare tree species such as mun (Diospyros mun) and cho chi (Parashorea chinensis) in the Thung Bong area of the Cuc Phuong National Park, contributing to forest ecosystem restoration.
