Cambodia’s top legislator vows to back cooperation with Vietnam
President of Cambodia’s National Assembly Heng Samrin affirmed that the legislature and he personally always support and want to boost cooperation with Vietnam.

Thetop legislator appreciated the Vietnamese diplomat’s contributions to nurturingand consolidating the bilateral friendship and solidarity.
Heexpressed his belief that in the new position, the diplomat will maintain hissupport for the bilateral relations.
AmbassadorDu thanked the NA President and Cambodia’s ministries, agencies and localitiesfor helping the embassy and other Vietnamese offices in the country fulfilltheir tasks.
Hewishes Cambodia will gain greater achievements in its nation construction anddevelopment.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Thach Du highlighted cooperation attainments between the two countries in recent times at a banquet hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Phnom Penh on September 1 to celebrate the 72nd National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945).
Acting Head of State of Cambodia and President of the Senate Samdech Say Chhum hosted a reception in Phnom Penh on September 15 for Vietnamese Ambassador Thach Du who was bidding farewell at the end of his tenure.
Stronger efforts and determination are required to achieve and surpass the set targets, especially in the eradication of makeshift and dilapidated houses nationwide, the acceleration of public investment disbursement, and the implementation of nationally important transport projects, PM Pham Minh Chinh noted.

In particular, in April 2023, the two sides successfully carried out a joint operation that dismantled a major organised, transnational drug trafficking ring involving both Vietnamese and Cambodian suspects.
