Cambodia welcomed 2.4 million international tourists in the first six months this year, up 2.6 percent against the same period last year, according to the Cambodian Minister of Tourism Thong Khon.

Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia welcomed 2.4 million international tourists in the first six months this year, up 2.6 percent against the same period last year, according to the Cambodian Minister of Tourism Thong Khon.
The number of Japanese tourists in the reviewed period was 90,877, a slight increase from 2015, the Minister told the conference on the Cambodia-Japan tourism held in Phnom Penh last weekend.
He said that Cambodia hopes to welcome around 300,000 Japanese visitors among its target of 7 million foreign tourists by 2020.
The Japanese airline ANA will open a direct flight from Tokyo to Phnom Penh from September 1.
