Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia will host the 12thASEAN Para Games from June 3 to 9, 2023, Tea Banh, Chairman of the CambodiaSEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC), announced at a ceremony to welcome theASEAN Para Games Flag and the return of the Cambodian Paralympic team from Indonesia.
According to local media, at the ceremony organised at PhnomPenh International Airport, the official hailed Cambodian para athletes for theirefforts in bringing pride for the nation and breaking the record of Cambodia inthe ASEAN Para Games.
He called on all Cambodian people to support para athletesand all concerned institutions to pay attention to their living conditions andtraining of para athletes toward the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
At the 11th ASEAN Para Games, Cambodia ranked 7th among the11 participating countries, earning in total 28 medals, including 7 gold, 10silver, and 11 bronze in boccia, men’s sitting volleyball, women’s wheelchairbasketball, table tennis, chess, athletics, and swimming.
Earlier on May 24, Cambodia also received the SEA Games Flagfrom Vietnam for the official hosting of the 32nd SEA Games scheduled from May5 to 17, 2023./.
