Hanoi (VNA) - Cambodiahave reported a steady decrease in COVID-19 cases in the last seven days, while Laos has still seen complicated developments of the pandemic.
The Cambodian Ministry of Health on October 7 announced that thecountry has recorded 224 new cases of COVID-19 and 10 more deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total numbers of infections and fatalities to 114,148 and 2,441, respectively.

According to the Ministry of Health, the number of daily communityinfections in the capital city of Vientiane has tended to decrease withonly 146 cases recorded while Luang Prabang province saw a rise with 143 cases reported. Up to now, the total number of COVID-19infections in Laos has reached 26,876 cases, including 23 deaths.
According to the Ministryof Health, although many field hospitals have been established, the increasein the number of cases has made it difficult for health workers to providetimely treatment. Currently, the country is trying to ensure theprovision of adequate care and treatment for patients with COVID-19, and atthe same time is mobilising localities to organize emergency medical teams torespond to disease developments.
