Cambodia on January 12 announced the postponement of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat scheduled for January 18-19 in Siem Reap in the in-person format.
Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia on January 12 announced the postponementof the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat scheduled for January 18-19 in SiemReap in the in-person format.

Talking to the media, the foreign ministry’s spokesperson KoyKuong said that the reason is that many ASEAN ministers are havingdifficulties to travel to join the meeting.

Recently, during a talk on Cambodia's 2022 ASEANChairmanship organized by the ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute, Cambodian ForeignMinister Prak Sokhonn stated that the retreat is the first importantministerial meeting to talk the realisation of decisions and plans that thecountries have agreed since 2021, and also an opportunity to discuss newinitiatives to promote ASEAN community building./.
