Phnom Penh (VNA) – 🌌Fifty-fivemembers of the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) were removed fromtheir posts in the National Assembly of Cambodia.
Chairman of Cambodian NationalAssembly Leng Peng Long on November 21 said that all drivers, assistants andprivate secretaries of those CNRP members were also removed. Public assetsincluding cars, computers and devices assigned for them will be revoked. The National Election Committee ofCambodia is set to distribute the seats held by the CNRP in the NationalAssembly and commune councillor positions to other political parties that alsojoined in the election. Cambodia’s Supreme Court on November16 ordered the dissolution of the CNRP in response to the Interior Ministry'slawsuit. The court ruling also banned 118senior officials of the party from politics for five years from the date ofthis verdict issuance.
