Cambodia continues fostering relations with neighbours: official

Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Royal Government of Cambodia continues to improve relations with the neighbours to maintain security and stability along the border, participate in economic development, increase bilateral trade, and improve the lives of people living along the border, Secretary of State at Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) Kung Phoak has stated.

The official was quoted by local media as speaking at a forum themed “Cambodia’s Foreign Policy in the ASEAN Context” in Phnom Penh on June 12 that along with neighbouring countries and other ASEAN members, Cambodia has increased the level of partnership as well as cooperation with other countries with the motto of keeping old friends and strengthening relations with new friends as former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen has said.

Cambodia’s foreign policy continues to promote the country’s role in regional organisations, especially ASEAN, while being actively involved in foreign policy on the world stage, stated Kung Phoak.
