Cambodia, China enhance bilateral ties

Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International CooperationPrak Sokhonn had a bilateral meeting on June 8 with Chinese State Councilor andForeign Minister Wang Yi to discuss ways to foster bilateral cooperation.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the SpecialASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and the sixth Mekong-Lancang Cooperation ForeignMinisters’ Meeting in China’s Chongqing city.

They spoke highly of the Cambodia-China comprehensivestrategic partnership, affirming their commitment to consolidating friendshipand boosting collaboration in all fields, for the interests of the two countries' people.

The Cambodian official congratulated China on the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China.

China confirmed the imports of more Cambodian agriculturalproducts, especially mango and rice. It also pledged to present additional500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses, and provide 4.5 million doses for Cambodia inJune.

The two sides also agreed to speed up domestic procedures toratify the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement to promote trade, investment andtourism between the two countries./.
