Cambodia, China agree to strengthen cooperation

Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo HunSen and visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreedon September 12 to enhance cooperation in fighting COVID-19, boost bilateraltrade and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.

At his meeting with Wang in Phnom Penh, Hun Sen saidCambodia is willing to join hands with China to continue pushing forwardbilateral relations.

The Cambodian leader appreciated China's support for his country's pandemic battle and noted his hope that the two countries will further cement bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, and infrastructure.

The Chinese FM promised that China will provide more COVID-19 vaccines andmedical supplies to Cambodia to help the country contain COVID-19.

Following the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of six cooperative deals, including a 270 million USD aid grant./.
