Phnom Penh(VNA) – Cambodia held a ceremony in Phnom Penh on November 9 to celebrate the64th anniversary of the country’s independence from France.
The event saw theparticipation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, President of the Senate SamdechSay Chhum, President of National Assembly Samdech Heng Samrin, Prime MinisterSamdech Hun Sen, among others.
At the ceremony, KingNorodom Sihamoni laid flowers and lit up the victory torch at the IndependenceMonument.

Thecountry’s position and prestige of in the world arena have been enhanced, whileits economic ties with the world have been extended.
With a growth of about7 percent, Cambodia has become one of the countries with stable economic growthin the region. The Cambodian Government targets to become a middle-incomecountry by 2030 and a high-income one by 2050.
