Hanoi (VNA) -ꦐ Cambodian police onMarch 12 arrested 100 Chinese people suspected of running a telecoms scam to defraudvictims in China.

Cambodia’s Immigration Investigation Bureausaid that police arrested 81 Chinese men and 19 women in a raid at aseven-storey condominium in the capital city of Phnom Penh. China has for years been battling telecomsfraud, which caused losses worth billions of USD to victims. As of May 2017, therewere 32 provincial and 206 municipal fraud prevention centres across thecountry. Thousands of Chinese suspects of telecomsfraud were caught in many countries, including Cambodia, Kenya and Armenia.-VNA
