Phnom Penh (VNA) - The Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia has saidthat Cambodia Angkor Air will resume regular flights from September 15.
The resumption of its operations currently is in line with the growing demandof domestic tourists facilitated by Cambodia being able to contain the spreadof domestic COVID-19, the Khmer Times newspaper reported.
The Ministry of Tourism hopes that Cambodia Angkor Air will consider reopeningflights between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville at a time when road traffic isgetting congested because of the increasing number of vehicles. This is also arequest from domestic tourists, tour operators and as well as the investors.
According to Khek Norinda, public relations director at Cambodia Airports thatmanages three international airports in Cambodia, there has been a drop intraffic of people travelling to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukvilleairports of up to 75 percent in the last eight months. There has also been adrop in cargo being flown in and out of the country by up to 32 percent.
