Ca Mau gas processing plant to start commercial production in June

A gas processing plant in U Minh district of the southernmost province of Ca Mau, designed with a capacity of 6.2 million cubic metres per day, will finish trial operations and begin commercial production in June 2017.

Hanoi (VNA) – A gas processing plantin U Minh district of the southernmost province of Ca Mau, designed with a capacityof 6.2 million cubic metres per day, will finish trial operations and begincommercial production in June 2017.

According to deputy head of the management boardof the factory Nguyen Tien Hai, the project has completed 99 percent of theworkload, and ran for 2.5 million hours without any incidents on a pilot basis.

The project, worth 300 million USD was investedby the PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas), aims to processnatural gas from blocks PM3 and 46-CN to create high value products, includingliquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and natural gas condensate, he added.

With the application of the latest technologiesto treat wastewater without using chemicals to rinse pipes, the project ensuresenvironmental protection.

Once put into operation in June, the gasprocessing plant will be able to produce 600 tonnes of LPG and 34 tonnes of condensateper day.-VNA
