Ca Mau expands trade investment activities

The Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau will mobilise 10 billion VND (476,000 USD) for promoting its trade and investment programme in 2015, said Director of the provincial Investment Promotion Centre Mai Van Bo.

The programme aims to expand exports and attract investors to local government-approved projects and industrial parks.

In 2015, the province targets to augment its seafood exports to the US, Japan and the European Union (EU).

Theprovince has actively carried out promotion activities includingparticipating in international exhibitions and trade fairs to advertiselocally-produced products and seek business opportunities for localenterprises.

It has also expanded trade promotion activities with China and member nations of the ASEAN bloc.

Asscheduled, more than 20 business groups and economic specialists willtake part in fact-finding trips to over 30 countries and territories in abid to promote trade and participate in exhibitions and trade fairs.

Theprovincial trade promotion centre will also open 10 training courses tohelp local businesses become more proactive in trade, exportactivities.

To date, the province’s seafood products have beenpresented in over 50 countries and territories with export revenues of1.3 billion USD annually.-VNA
