Boxers win six medals at regional boxing championship
Young boxers from Vietnam won a gold, three silver, and two bronze medals at the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships which concluded in Saraburi, Thailand, on March 6.

Hanoi (VNA)♋ — Young boxers from Vietnam won a gold, three silver, and twobronze medals at the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships which concluded inSaraburi, Thailand, on March 6.
Theonly gold went to Do Hong Ngoc in the women’s 60kg category. The18-year-old Ngoc defeated her teammate Nguyen Thi Loan in the finalmatch after earlier becoming the first ever boxer in the regionaltournament to beat a rival of the host nation. Ngoc,who is Vietnam’s national bronze medallist, defeated PeedakamonTintabthai in the semi-finals. Later, in the same round, Loan proved hercredentials to beat Thai Chalisa Mora in the second bout of the day. In the women’s 75kg class, Hoang Ngoc Loan lost to Thanchanok Saksri of the host. PhamThi Mai defeated Thailand’s strong favourite Porntip Buapa in thesemi-final of the women’s 57kg pool but failed to repeat the feat in thefinal, losing to Bunyanut Machai, another Thai. Vietnam's national bronze medal winner Vo Xuan Hai and Tran Thi Giangfinished third in their men’s 52kg and women’s 75kg categories,respectively. Womenboxers can take part in the ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships in fourweight classes: 51kg, 57kg, 60kg and 75kg. The men have six weightclasses: 49kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 64kg and 69kg. Boxer Ha Thi Linh brought home a silver medal in the women’s 64 kg event on February 28 at the 67th International Boxing Tournament Strandja 2016 underway in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen has made history for Vietnam’s dancesport by clinching a bronze medal in the solo Latin category at the WDSF World Championship 2025 in Germany.
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.

The event, part of Vietnam’s cultural diplomacy strategy through 2030, was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela and USM’s Faculty of International Relations. It attracted thousands of students from universities across Venezuela.
For the first time, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to experience the ballet masterpiece "Don Quixote" in its original version by renowned choreographer Marius Petipa.
