The first session of the Vietnam-Laos Committee for Cooperation in Technology and Innovation took place in Vientiane, Laos, on May 28.

Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Committee for Culture and Education Nguyen Dac Vinh met with Chairwoman of the Lao NA’s Committee for Cultural and Social Affairs Thoummaly Vongphachanh in Vientiane on December 4, discussing bilateral cooperation within their realm.

The official visit of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong to Lao on April 10 and 11 was a great success and its results will contribute to deepening the two countries’ great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation, Lao officials said while talking to the Vietnam News Agency about the trip.

Since its foundation in 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) has led its country through great achievements, stated a Lao official.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Chairman of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association Boviengkham Vongdara in Vientiane on January 11, part of his official visit to Laos.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue commended the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association for its contributions to the friendship and special solidarity between the two countries, during a reception for its President Boviengkham Vongdara in Vientiane on May 17.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has hailed the current Vietnam visit by Lao Minister of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Lao National Scientific Institute Boviengkham Vongdara for contributing to lifting ties between the two countries.

Laos hopes for support from authorities in Ho Chi Minh City to facilitate joint science and technology projects, said Lao Minister of Science and Technology Boviengkham Vongdara.
