Hanoi (VNA)🍸 – The recent construction work on two border markers along the Vietnam – Cambodia borderline is significant to the countries’ border demarcation, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh said at the regular press conference on November 26.

Binh said the simultaneous building of border markers No. 30 and No. 275 was agreed by the Vietnamese and Cambodian Governments.
Marker No. 30 is located between the Le Thanh and Oya Dao border gates in Vietnam’s Gia Lai province and Cambodia’s Rattanakiri province, respectively. Meanwhile, marker No. 275 is positioned between the Tinh Bien and Phnom Den border gates in Vietnam’s An Giang province and Cambodia’s Takeo province. A roughly 450-metre road linking the two check points of Le Thanh and Oya Dao are also built at the same time.
The construction, commencing on November 20, is to implement the Treaty on the Delimitation of National Boundaries between the two countries signed on December 27, 1985, and the Supplementary Treaty to the 1985 Treaty signed on October 10, 2005. The two border markers are part of a master solution “package” that comprises three border markers as stated in the countries’ memorandum of understanding inked on April 23, 2011, the spokesman noted. The completion of the border marker building marks an important period in the land border demarcation and border marker planting to build the shared borderline of peace, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, he added.-VNA
