Dak Nong (VNA) – Almost 95 percent fromThuan Ha and Thuan Hanh border communes in Dak Song district, the CentralHighland province of Dak Nong, have accessed electricity thanks to a localpower project in 2014-2020 period.
Dak Song district has 21 hamlets to get benefitsfrom the project, prioritising the provision of electricity for 1,743households from 11 hamlets in Thuan Ha and Thuan Hanh communes.
In the first quarter of 2018, the Dak Nong PowerCompany put into operation seven transformation stations with a capacity of650kVA in Thuan Hanh commune.
The company also built a new transformationstation with a capacity of 100kVA along with a 1.6km medium-voltage power lineand a 2.5km low-voltage power line for more 80 households.
Apart from upgrading the power network, thecompany has also simplified procedures to supply electricity and promote theapplication of information technology to improve customers caring services.
Director of the company Tran Van Thuan said theimplementation of power projects in border areas not only significantlycontributes to the local socio-economic development but also completing thenational target on rural electrification.
Dak Nong province shares over 120km borderlinewith Cambodia.
As of 2017, 99.98 percent of communes nationwideand 98.83 percent of households accessed to electricity. One decade ago, therates were 97 percent and 93.4 percent, respectively.-VNA
