A French edition of the first book on the history of the Vietnamese martial art made its debut on August 22. The book itself was published in 2012 as a 12-year research project of author Pham Dinh Phong.
According to Phong, the French edition was released based on the practical demand of readers, instructors and learners of the martial art.
Under the funding from the international federation of Vietnamese martial art and a French association of the sport, the edition is expected to help readers and martial art instructors and learners have deep insight into the Vietnamese traditional art. The edition consisting of 1,500 books is not for sale. One thousand units will be given to the sponsors to present the French-speaking martial art communities, while the rest will become gifts for philanthropists who have assisted many talents with disadvantaged background.-VNA
