Havana (VNA) - The book "Fidel Castro, ꦆNuestra Sangre porVietnam" (Fidel Castro, Our Blood for Vietnam) was launched by the LatinAmerican News Agency, Prensa Latina, in Havana on September 13, marking the 50th anniversary of the leader's historic visit to Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Prensa Latina President LuisEnrique González said the book is a collaboration between Prensa Latina and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA). The76-page book gathers dozens of images thatmark a milestone in the relations and fraternity between Cuba and Vietnam. Fidel’s presence in Vietnam was a gesture of personalcourage and a call for the international community to learn about the cause ofthe heroic Vietnamese people, and an expression of its solidarity with that struggle, headded. Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Thanh Tung said thebook contributes to helping young Cuban and Vietnamese people to have a betterunderstanding of countless efforts by their older generations to build and nurturethe two countries’ relations which have been passed down generations to them. Earlier, the Vietnam News Agency Publishing House publicised a bilingual a book on the visit by Cuban leader FidelCastro to the liberated zone in Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri duringthe war 50 years ago. The publication in Vietnamese andSpanish named "Fidel Castro - Vi Viet Nam, nguyen hien dang ca mau!" (FidelCastro - Nuestra Sangre Por Vietnam" [Fidel Castro: Our blood for Vietnam]) marks the 50th anniversary of the Cuban leader’s visit, reminding people of hisfamous saying “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its blood”. It also helps readers have a better understanding aboutFidel's special affection for Vietnam, Vietnamese people, and President Ho ChiMinh./.
Cuban leader Fidel Castro visited the central province of Quang Tri from September 12-17, 1973, becoming the first foreign leader to set foot in the liberated area in the south of Vietnam.
The book “Fidel Castro va Viet Nam – Nhung ky niem khong quen” (Fidel Castro and Vietnam – Unforgettable memories) was introduced to the public in Hanoi on November 7, as part of the activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam – Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 – 2020).
The Vietnam News Agency Publishing House has recently introduced to the public a book named “Fidel Castro - Huyen thoai xuyen the ky” (Fidel Castro - A legend through centuries), a collection of articles and writings about the Cuban leader collected, selected and translated by veteran journalist Pham Dinh Loi.
