
Atthe recent first meeting of the sub-committee on personnel affairs ofthe 14th National Party Congress, the leader delivered aspeech on some issues requiring special attention in the preparation ofpersonnel for the coming congress.
Le Van Thien, who has 41-year Partymembership and former Director of the Binh Duong Centre of Continuing Education,voiced his support for the viewpoint of putting the Fatherland above all.
Heperceived that personnel preparations need to be carried out carefully,especially in selecting persons holding the revolutionary ideal along withsufficient capacity and morality.
Thien regretted that there remainundeserving officials in the Party Central Committee of the 2020 - 2025 tenurewho have affected the Party’s reputation and people’s trust.
He said he believes in the newtenure, persons loyal to the Party, the country, and national interests will bechosen.
Those in the Party Central Committee mustput people’s interests above all, be faithful to the Party’s principles andgoals, seriously adhere to the Party’s regulations and policies, and never goagainst people’s trust, he added.
Echoingthe view, Nguyen Van Ven, former Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong Association ofWar Veterans, also expressed support for General Secretary Trong’s speech, whichlays stress on building a strong Party Central Committee, a strong Politburo,and a strong Secretariat of the Party Central Committee that are truly unitedand unanimous, centre around the leader, and capable of fulfilling the gloriousbut also heavy task of directing the completion of political duties, promotingthe entire Party, army and people’s efforts to surmount every difficulty andhardship, building an increasingly clean and strong Party, boosting the country’sdevelopment, and securing prosperity and happiness for the people.
Personnel selection needs to considercandidates’ leadership capacity, specialised knowledge, morality, andcommitment to the Party and country’s missions, he opined, pointing out that transparency,justice, and impartiality during the selection are also critical to winning people’s trust and support.
The chosen persons also need to beable to promote reform, innovation, and efficiency in their works, especiallyamid current challenges and volatility in the world, Ven went on, adding personnelselection should focus on not only the short term but also the long term toensure the Party and country’s sustainable development./.
