Binh Duong (VNA) – The southernprovince of Binh Duong wishes to attract more investments from India, heard anonline conference on December 14.

The investment promotion conference was jointly heldby the provincial People’s Committee and the Indian Consulate General in Ho ChiMinh City.

According to Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Nguyen Hoang Thao, with 206 projects worth nearly 900 million USD,India now ranks 26th among the 129 countries and territoriesinvesting in Vietnam.

In Binh Duong alone, India has invested in 10projects valued at 116 million USD, the official said, stressing that theprovince stands ready to facilitate the operation of Indian firms for the longterm, particularly in renewable and high-tech, and pharmacy.

Indian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City MadanMohan Sethi said he hopes to help Indian enterprises invest in Binh Duong thathas good infrastructure and favourable geographical location.

Vietnamese Ambassador to India Pham Sanh Chau laudedBinh Duong’s efforts in online investment promotion, saying the locality’sdynamic development has drawn great attention from Indian firms.

Participating businesses suggested local authoritiesattract Indian firms operating in pharmacy and yarn production to serve thefootwear and leather sector in Vietnam.

Chairman Thao said Binh Duong always welcomes Indianinvestors and businesses, and the locality will organise trips for Indian firmsto have a better look at the local investment climate after COVID-19./.
