Binh Dinh eyes opportunity to optimise development potential

A series of international sports event are being held in Binh Dinh for the first time, opening up many new cooperation and development opportunities for the south-central locality, contributing to promoting the rich cultural values of the province.

Binh Dinh (VNA) ཧ– A series of international sports event are being held in Binh Dinh for the first time, opening up many new cooperation and development opportunities for the south-central locality, contributing to promoting the rich cultural values of the province.

Within the Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024, diverse cultural, sports and tourism events are taking place in Binh Dinh until March 31, spotlighting stories of the local culture and history, and promoting great socioeconomic development potential of the locality. The highlight of the week is the Grand Prix of Binh Dinh, consisting UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship (from March 22-24) and UIM F1H20 World Championship Grand Prix of Binh Dinh (March 29-31). Binh Dinh is the first locality of Vietnam to host the event, which will see the competition of Vietnam’s first motorboat team - F1H2O Binh Dinh.

Within the Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024, a cultural and culinary festival will be held with a buffet featuring 77 local dishes, along with a Binh Dinh martial arts night, a light show using drones, and investment and trade promotion activities gathering businesses from Vietnam and other countries. Binh Dinh aims to become the leading tourism centre of Vietnam. The locality is determined to turn tourism into a key economic sector with diverse tourism products, including resort tourism, entertainment, sea sports, scientific tourism, business tourism and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) tourism. Binh Dinh is gifted with natural beaches, stunning mountains, and rich cultural values. The area was once the capital of the ancient Champa Kingdom, where the national language was discovered, and the Tay Son movement began, associated with the name of the national hero Quang Trung (1753-1792).
This is also the homeland of many famous names in Vietnamese literature such as Han Mac Tu and Che Lan Vien.  It is the cradle of Vietnamese martial art. Therefore, Binh Dinh is also thus known as the land of martial arts and literature. Furthermore, Binh Dinh is also home to Bai Choi singing, a popular folklore style of singing in central Vietnam, which has been recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, along with many other historical relic sites.

According to Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Dinh Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Binh Dinh tourism is being promoted with new colours with more attractive destinations to drawan increasing number of domestic and foreign visitors. The provincial leader expressed his hope to receive feedback from visitors, thus helping the province to improve itself in the future, enabling the locality to continue to host more water sports in the next four years.
The Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024 is held on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Binh Dinh liberation day (March 31, 1975-2024), heading to the 49th anniversary of the liberation of the south and national reunification (April 30, 1975-2024). This is also among the activities to respond to the campaign to encourage all people to do physical exercise following the example of President Ho Chi Minh./.
