Ben Tre coconut products to boom on lazada.vn in late April

A “Ben Tre coconut village day” programme will run on e-commerce platform lazada.vn on April 25 to bring the Mekong Delta province’s coconut products to a wider community of online consumers.

Ben Tre (VNA) – A “Ben Tre coconutvillage day” programme will run on e-commerce platform lazada.vn on April 25 tobring the Mekong Delta province’s coconut products to a wider community ofonline consumers.

The event was unveiled at a conference heldin Ben Tre on April 9. The conference aimed to show local coconut firms andproducers how to trade on the platform.

Lazada said it will support them via aseries of incentives, including free-of-charge online stall opening, onlinesale training courses, as well as advertisement campaigns on TV, newspapers,and social networks.

Vo Quoc Tuan, Lazada director of publicrelations, said the event is part of the company’s online speciality villageprogramme, which helps rural startups nationwide expand their businessesonline.

Ben Tre is the first locality to kick offthe programme, he added.

The province is home to 163,000 householdsinvolved in farming 71,000 ha of coconut tree, or half of Vietnam’scoconut-growing land. They produce 800 million coconuts and ship about 200million USD worth of coconut products abroad annually. Ben Tre’s coconuts areexported to about 84 countries and territories worldwide. –VNA
