Vietnam is a special partner of Belarus as it is the first country signing a free trade agreement with the Eurasia Economic Union, said Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Dapkyunas.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam is a special partner of Belarus as it is thefirst country signing a free trade agreement with the Eurasia Economic Union,said Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Dapkyunas.

Meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh Son in Hanoi on December 4,he expressed his wish that the agreement will be implemented effectively.

Andrei Dapkyunas, who is in Vietnam to attend the 16th VietnamInternational Trade Fair (Vietnam Expo 2018) as a guest of honour, affirmed hisgovernment will create conditions for the two countries to strengthen cooperationin order to boost bilateral economic-trade ties on par with politicalrelations.

Belarus will continue to support and closely coordinate with Vietnam at internationalforums, he noted.

For his part, Son asserted that Vietnam treasures its ties with Belarus and thankedthe European country for supporting Vietnam in the national construction anddevelopment.

He stressed that the two countries’ foreign ministries should continue playinga leading role in fostering bilateral cooperation in all fields.

At the meeting, both sides exchanged measures to promote economic-tradecollaboration between Vietnam and Belarus.

Deputy FM Son applauded Belarusian businesses for paying attention to theVietnamese market, which is reflected through the participation of many leadingfirms from Belarus in the Vietnam Expo 2018, saying this is a positive signaland a basis for the two countries to achieve their goal of raising two-waytrade to 500 million USD.-VNA
