Vietnamese dancer shines on the world stage
Nguyen Trong Nha Uyen has made history for Vietnam’s dancesport by clinching a bronze medal in the solo Latin category at the WDSF World Championship 2025 in Germany.
Epics passed down many generations of the Bahnar ethnic minoritycommunity in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai were awarded acertificate recognising them part of the national intangible heritage onApril 24.
The Bahnar epics are legends about thetribe’s heroes and great events, which are long enough to sing and tellthrough several nights.
Currently, there are morethan 20 storytellers who know by heart 70 Bahnar epic poems across theprovince. Some of the epics have been recorded and published.
The recognition will help promote those charming stories andfacilitate relevant activities of research, collection and preservation.
The Central Highlands region, which comprises thefive provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Gia Lai and Kon Tum, ishome to stunning mythical landscapes and a significant population ofdiverse ethnic minorities and cultures.-VNA
