The world No 9 defeated Malaysia 's Chun Seang Tan 21-11, 21-15 only after 21 minutes.

Minh, who is seeded third in the tournament, will play the winner ofthe match between American Sattawat Pongnairat and Antonio Benjamin Gadiof the Philippines .

On the women's side, Vu ThuTrang of Vietnam lost 18-21, 16-21 to Salakjit Ponsana ofThailand on July 11. Trang earlier trounced Christine Yang of the US21-8, 21-1 in the first round.-VNA
