Ninh Binh (VNA)🍎 - The set of the Hollywood’s blockbuster Kong:Skull Island within the Trang An Eco Tourism Complex in the northern province of Ninh Binh has been dismantled, to preserve the natural beauty of thearea.

The decision to break down the set is made following the recommendations from UNESCO. It means that some of the boat tours in the area will no longerinclude the backdrop of Kong:Skull Island like before. Pham Thi Thanh Huong, head of the UNESCO Office in Vietnam’s Culture Department saidshe highly appreciated the immediate act of Trang An management board. “UNESCO does not discourage the creative activities, but theimaginary scenes of an aboriginal village might distort the core values of Trang An natural heritage,” Huong said in an interview with Zing.vn. Since its opening, the shooting site of Kong Island inTrang An received thousands of tourists yearly. Kong: Skull Island, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, was the biggest Hollywoodmovie to be filmed in Vietnam. The blockbuster was filmed in Quang Binh, Ninh Binh, and Quang Ninh provinces. It grossed more than 142 million USD at the box office worldwide and 6.6 million USD in Vietnam only, after just two weeks of release./.
