Bac Giang (VNA)💃 – The northern province of Bac Giang will intensify the dissemination of its positive information on the Internet, the portal of the provincial Party Committee and social media platforms of departments, agencies and localities, reported the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education.

The Party committees, organisations, officials and Party members of the province are required to strictly follow the regulation of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on the establishment and use of personal websites and social media accounts. They also need to adhere to the Directive of the provincial Party Committee’s standing board, which explicitly states that officials and Party members should share and spread at least one positive piece of information daily. The province will build and develop a workforce of Steering Committees 35 to disseminate positive information and counter harmful ones. Focus will be on urging more people from walks of life to share positive information regarding the Party's policies and guidelines and the State laws. At the same time, it involves promptly discovering and addressing emerging issues and events related to specific sectors or regions, preventing them from becoming "hotspots" or sources of malicious and negative information.
In addition, Bac Giang will urge residents and Internet users to strictly comply with the Cybersecurity Law, the Code of Conduct on social media; actively and proactively post and share truthful and legitimate information on social media platforms, aiming to make every local a cultured citizen on the online environment. It will also build a project on spreading positive information; refuting wrongful, hostile and harmful allegations on the Internet and social media till 2025, with a vision to 2030. According to the provincial Department of Information and Communications, there are about 1.4 million Internet subscribers in Bac Giang at present. Up to 88% of the adult population use smart phones, with millions of Zalo, Facebook, YouTube accounts belonging to entities and individuals. Apart from their advantages and positive news about the province on the Internet and various portals and electronic information pages, the Internet and social media have also become the primary tools for hostile forces to exploit and undermine the country's revolutionary cause. They are becoming "useful" tools and environments for criminals to exploit, with many blogs, Facebook pages, Youtube and other social network accounts are posting a lot of news and articles that hold content distorting and opposing the Party and the State; and slandering, defaming and insulting leaders, entities and individuals.
According to a report by the provincial Steering Committee 35, the work of promoting positive information and countering bad and harmful information on the Internet and other social networks in the province yielded positive results last year.

The province maintained and mobilised over 2,000 social network accounts of the provincial Steering Committee 35 and those of localities, agencies and units to spread positive information and orient public opinions on the cyberspace. Bac Giang newspaper has published 3,200 news, articles and 1,062 special pages of positive information.
Bac Giang radio and television station opened and maintained the "Straight View" column, broadcast two programmes a month. The "Recognising the Truth" column is broadcast regularly every Saturday evening while about 500 documentaries, nearly 2,000 news and articles, 10 special pages were published. As many as 1,750 news and articles, images on social networks have been edited and shared on the social networks to spread positive information and exemplary models, fight and refute false and hostile views to protect the Party's ideological foundation./.
