Ba Ria-Vung Tau: Early voting held for soldiers, fishermen
Officers, soldiers and fishermen working for days at sea off the coast of the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau cast their votes to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Council at all levels on May 4 - earlier than scheduled.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) – Officers, soldiers and fishermen workingfor days at sea off the coast of the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau casttheir votes to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) andPeople’s Council at all levels on May 4 - earlier than scheduled.
The early voting was held in five constituencies in the provincialcapital of Vung Tau for naval and coast guard officers and soldiers, fishery surveillanceforces, workers on offshore oil platforms, and fishermen, nearly three weeksbefore the national polling officially takes place on May 23.
Two working groups were also dispatched from the wharf of Brigade 171 toorganize advance polling for voters at offshore economic, scientific andtechnical service stations on the southern continental shelf, known as DK1platforms, and on ocean-going naval vessels.

Bidding farewell to the working groups, Tran Dinh Khoa, Secretary of themunicipal Party Committee and head of Vung Tau city’s steering committee forelections, requested the groups to ensure all forces on duty at sea cast theirvotes and exercise their rights as citizens.
According to the Naval Region 2’s High Command, there are 378 officersand soldiers on duty at 15 DK1 platforms and on naval vessels at sea.
The groups are set to return to the mainland before May 23./.
The National Election Council recently issued Dispatch No 533/HDBCQG-VP dated April 20, allowing Tho Chau island commune of Phu Quoc city to hold the elections of deputies to the National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 tenure on May 21, two days earlier than the national election day.
The National Election Council (NEC) hosted a press conference on April 27 to announce the official list of 868 candidates who will run for 500 seats in the 15th National Assembly.
