Aviation authority holds urgent meeting on Bamboo Airways’ operations

Hanoi (VNA) – The CivilAviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has held an urgent meeting with keyleaders of Bamboo Airways to assess risks and ensure absolute flight safety afterthis carrier’s Chairman Trinh Van Quyet had been temporarily detained on the charge of stockmarket manipulation.

At this meeting, CAAV DirectorDinh Viet Thang said the authority is paying special attention to aviation securityand safety, the interests of Bamboo Airways’ customers, as well as how totackle difficulties to help this firm overcome this trying time and developsustainably.

He noted a report on BambooAirways’ operations will be submitted to the Ministry of Transport, adding thatthe aviation authority will not monitor this carrier more strictly in the next three- six months.

Deputy General Director ofBamboo Airways Nguyen Ngoc Trong said since March 29 evening, the firm’sleaders have assessed risks and impacts on its operations after the sudden moverelated to its top leader.

Trong noted that Quyet hadentrusted the entire right related to his shares in Bamboo Airways to Vu DangHai Yen, Deputy General Director of the FLC Group - the parent company ofBamboo Airways.

All the persons holding theleadership and management positions are unaffected and high-qualitypersonnel, including pilots, flight attendants, and engineers, maintained, he went on.

Meanwhile, financialinstitutions like banks and credit organisations that have inked contracts withBamboo Airways also pledged to continue the signed contracts, Trong said, addingthat the carrier commits itself to carry out all of its obligations towardscustomers./.
