Australia funds Vietnam’s digitalisation initiatives

The third round of the Innovation Partnership Grants under the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Aus4Innovation Programme has opened, targeting initiatives under priority targets of the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology to promote post-COVID-19 recovery.

Hanoi (VNA) – The third round of theInnovation Partnership Grants under the Australian Department of ForeignAffairs and Trade’s Aus4Innovation Programme has opened, targeting initiatives under priority targets of the Vietnamese Ministry ofScience and Technology to promote post-COVID-19 recovery.

The round, with a budget of 1.5 million AUD (nearly 1.16 million USD), isdesigned for tested existing partnerships between Australian and Vietnameseinstitutions that are ready to scale up.

Under the theme ‘Enhancing Digital Transformation’, this round will focus oninitiatives that have the potential to enhance digital transformation in theeconomy and deliver inclusive social impact.

Suggested areas in which applicants could develop their ideas include smartmanufacturing, smart agriculture, digital health, smart education, smartcities, finance and banking, e-government, and natural resources andenvironment.

Those granted with the funding will be required to implement their projectswithin 12 months./.

PM calls for cooperation withꦐ Sweden in nuclear energy technology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
