ASEAN+3 nations discuss solutions to tourism recovery

The 39th online meeting of ASEAN+3 (China, Japan and Republic of Korea) National Tourism Organisations discussed the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism activities and worked out solutions, reported the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 39th online meeting ofASEAN+3 (China, Japan and Republic of Korea) National Tourism Organisationsdiscussed the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism activities and workedout solutions, reported the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT)under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Participants said tourism exchange between member states ofthe Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China, Japan and the RoKhas been strongly hit by the pandemic.

The ASEAN+3 countries proposed a number of measures torecover the sector such as helping each other hold online events, enhancingtourism promotion campaigns in the region, surveying tourists and welcoming visitorsin the region and the world when conditions allow.

According to the VNAT, Vietnam will work closely with allmember states to carry out the ASEAN+3 Tourism Cooperation Work Plan for the2021-2025 period to revitalise the sector./.
