The Vietnamese chess team on August 4 had impressive performance in final matches of the rapid chess category at the ongoing 11th ASEAN Para Games in Indonesia, when pocketing six gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

Jakarta (VNA) - The Vietnamese chess team on August 4 had impressive performancein final matches of the rapid chess category at the ongoing 11th ASEAN ParaGames in Indonesia, when pocketing six gold, three silver and three bronzemedals.

Notably, the team won a half of this category’s total goldmedals.

In addition, as of the end of the day, the Vietnamese chessteam topped the medal tally, with 10 golds, much higher than the target ofthree gold medals set for this Games.

They were followed by the Philippines with eight golds, andhost Indonesia with six golds.

According to head coach Le Hien Thuc, Vietnamese players canwin more gold medals in the final round of the blitz chess category on August5, with a total of 12 sets of medals to be awarded./.
