Jakarta (VNA) ♕- ASEAN Member States strongly condemn the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium on 22 March 2016, which caused numerous deaths and injuries, and damaged properties.

In a statement released on March 23, foreign ministers of ASEAN member nations expressed their deep sympathies and condolences to the Belgian Government and people, and to the families of the victims of the terror attacks.
The statement said ASEAN fully supports the efforts of the Belgian Government in returning the situation to normalcy as soon as possible and bringing the perpetrators to justice. It reaffirmed ASEAN foreign ministers’ strong commitment to working closely with the international community in the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
A series of explosions ripped through Brussels airport and a city metro station on March 22, killing over 30 people and injuring more than 200 others. The self-claimed Islamic State group (IS) has admitted to carrying out the attacks. The international community vehemently condemned this action.-VNA
