The third ASEAN cultural night in Oslo, Norway on October 6 showcased images of the region and enhanced relations between the two sides.
The embassies of Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Thailand organised the event.
Vietnamese Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, also chair of the ASEAN Committee in Oslo, spoke about new developments in the relationship between ASEAN and Norway, including the approval of Norway as a dialogue partner on August 5. This had opened up more opportunities for investment and trade.
Ambassadors from ASEAN countries in Oslo said they believed Norway would work closely with ASEAN to foster co-operative ties and contribute to the region’s sustainable development.
Participants at the event were treated with traditional dishes and music performances.
The first ASEAN cultural night was held in 2012 and the second in 2014.-VNA
