ASEAN ceramics trade show set for Bangkok

A biennial ceramics trade show featuring the latest machinery, technology and materials for manufacturing whiteware, heavy clay and advanced ceramics will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, in September.
A biennial ceramics trade show featuring the latest machinery,technology and materials for manufacturing whiteware, heavy clay andadvanced ceramics will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, in September.

This year's show would be twice as big as the previous event, and wasexpected to draw both ASEAN members and their trade partners, organiserssaid.

Vu Quoc Hung, Secretary General of theVietnam Building Ceramic Association, said: "The International ASEANCeramics Exhibition is an opportunity to expand investment cooperation,transfer technology, purchase materials and equipment, provide servicesand act as a bridge between manufacturers and distributors betweenVietnam, ASEAN, and the world."

Vietnam's ceramicsindustry has enjoyed strong development. It produces over 400 millionsq.m. of ceramic tiles and 12 million pieces of sanitary ware annually.Vietnam is consistently ranked in the top 10 largest ceramics producersafter China, Spain, Italy and Brazil.

Its current export value is 400 million USD per year, with annual sales of over 2 billion USD.-VNA
