Art exhibition celebrates Vietnam – RoK ties

Vietnamese and Korean artists are showing their works at an art exhibition which opened in downtown Seoul on August 16, under support from the Vietnam Embassy in the Republic of Korea and the Korea Foundation.

Seoul (VNA) – Vietnamese andKorean artists are showing their works at an art exhibition which opened in downtownSeoul on August 16, under support from the Vietnam Embassy in the Republic ofKorea and the Korea Foundation.

More than 20 paintings, video tapes andinstallation art works on display depict social changes in both nations overthe past 30 years through the eyes of young artists.

The exhibition is part of activitiesmarking the 25th founding anniversary of Vietnam – RoK diplomaticrelations. It is taking place at the Korea Foundation (KF) Cultural Centreuntil October 18, before moving to the ASEAN Cultural House in Busan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, KFExecutive Vice President Yoon Keum-Jin said the event is the biggest display ofVietnam’s contemporary art in her country to date.

She noted that young Vietnamese and Koreanartists shared a common concern over fading traditional culture amid rapidindustrialisation and urbanisation.        

Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen VuTu said in just 25 years, the ties between the two countries have obtainedsignificant progress in various aspects, particularly people-to-peopleexchanges.

Stressing that further achievements forboth sides lay ahead, the diplomat said he expects cultural activities like theart exhibition will help enhance Korean understanding about Vietnam and stimulatebilateral engagements.-VNA

🐻 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
