Buenos Aires (VNA)🍸 – Famous Argentinian architect Oscar Alberto Goldadler has been honoured with a Golden Heart certificate of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) for his great contributions and support for the association.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Nguyen Dinh Thao presented the certificate to the architect at a ceremony in Buenos Aires on January 7.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Thao thanked Goldadler for his assistance to Vietnamese AO/ Dioxin victims. He affirmed that Goldadler’s support will help bolster the solidarity and friendship between two nations. For his part, the Argentinian recalled his 17 visits to Vietnam, highlighting that he is especially concerned about Vietnamese people who were exposed to dioxin, which has left excruciating pains to the country. About 80 million litres of toxic chemicals, mainly Agent Orange containing dioxin, were sprayed over the south of Vietnam during 1961-1971. Nearly 4.8 million Vietnamese people were exposed to the chemicals and about three millions and their descendants suffer from health problems as consequences of the exposure until today.
When young, Goldadler actively joined in socio-political movements against the war in Vietnam. At the end of 2015, he presented 1,600 USD to AO/ Dioxin victims in Vietnam through the Vietnamese Embassy in Buenos Aires. The architect was invited by the Italian Foreign Ministry to work in a project to restore the Temple of Literature in Hanoi. He also joined the teams designing Vietnam Museum of Ethnology and some projects to preserve Hanoi’s Old Quarter. In 2006, he set up a Vietnam House in Argentina while joining hands with the Vietnamese Embassy to popularise the Southeast Asian country’s culture and people in Argentina.-VNA
