Hanoi (VNA) - Leaders of21 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies discussed how to promotefree trade and regional economic integration on November 18 in Port Moresby ofPapua New Guinea as the United States and China remain at odds over trade andother policies.
Kyodo News reported that the focus of this year's APEC Economic Leaders’Meeting in Papua New Guinea's capital Port Moresby is whether the participantscan find common ground in their commitment to fighting protectionist policies.
According to a draft declaration, theparticipating economies will seek unity in pledging to "fight all forms ofprotectionism and other trade distorting measures." They also discussedhow to develop infrastructure projects within the region.
