Hanoi (VNA) – The health sector has been ready to serve the APEC EconomicLeaders’ Week scheduled to take place in the central city of Da Nang fromNovember 6-11.
Thestatement was made by Luong Ngoc Khue, head of the HealthMinistry’s Medical Examination and Treatment Department which is in charge of overseeingthe medical work at the event.
Khuesaid around 500 medical workers, including high-profile doctors, nurses andtechnicians in such leading hospitals as Huu Nghi, Viet Duc, Bach Mai, Cho Rayand Vinmec Hanoi, have been called for the Week – the most important event ofthe APEC Year 2017 hosted by Vietnam.
Hospitalsin the city and neighbouring localities have plans to assign their personnel tojoin in emergency tasks in case there are those who get sick or injured.
The sectorhas prepared two additional ambulances with sufficient equipment and medicine,Khue stated, adding that a plan to carry patients by helicopter for treatmentin other places or abroad was also put on place.
Threeworking groups from the ministry have checked food safety and hygiene practicesat 49 hotels assigned to serve the event, Khue said.
The APECEconomic Leaders’ Week is expected to bring together heads of state and around10,000 delegates from 21 APEC member economies.
