Annual Vietnam logistics forum spotlights sustainability
The Vietnam Logistics Forum (VLF), the largest annual event in the field hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade since 2013, will take place in the northern port city of Hai Phong on November 25 and 26, aiming to encourage firms to save energy, reduce emissions, and use clean power sources.

Themed ‘Green Logistics’, the 10th edition willbe co-chaired by Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’sEconomic Commission Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen HongDien, and Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Tran Luu Quang.
As scheduled, on November 25, participating delegates andbusinesses will have a field trip to a port and logistics centre in Hai Phong,which houses a long coastline and a deep-sea port capable of habouring shipswith tonnages of up to 12,000 TEU (132,000 tonnes).
On the next day, they will attend the forum’s plenary sittingtheme ‘Green Logistics’ and two panel discussions on cost optimisation vialogistics centers and circular economy, and on the sector’s activeadaptation.
Vietnam ranks 11th out of the 50 countries in the 2022Emerging Market Logistics Index released by logistics and freight providerAgility.
The country’s freight and logistics market is expected togrow at a compounded annual rate of 5.5% in 2022 – 2027. Its economy has posteda strong recovery this year, growing at 8.93% in the first nine months./.
The Logistics Forum Vietnam 2020 was held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) in Hanoi on November 26, with more than 500 businesses attending.
Vietnam has set an annual growth target of 15-20 percent for the logistics sector, making up 8-10 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). Besides, logistics costs are also expected to reduce, equivalent to 16-20 percent of the GDP.
Difficulties in terms of human resources of the logistics industry will increase further when Vietnam integrates deeply into the world, especially in the ASEAN economic community, and joins new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs), requiring an improvement in logistics manpower development, said Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien.
The event aimed to update businesses on new regulations and compliance requirements regarding US tax, trade, and customs policies, while offering practical solutions to facilitate exports amid shifting trade dynamics.
The festival marks a significant milestone in promoting the brand, value, and legacy of traditional fish sauce - a product deeply rooted in the island’s identity and history spanning over 200 years.

The participation of H&M, one of the world's largest fashion corporations, in Vietnam International Sourcing 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City in early September is considered a special highlight, opening up many cooperation opportunities for Vietnamese businesses in the fashion, textiles and sustainable supply chains.
