Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen made thestatement at a working session with the municipal Department of Tourism andrelevant businesses on May 5.
Enriching contents of the festivals coupled with enhancing connection withtravel agencies to popularise activities held during the festivals should bepaid special attention to lure more foreigners, he suggested.
He also asked the municipal Tourism Department to reckon total foreign travellersto the city’s festivals to evaluate the attractiveness of the festivals.
Director of the municipal department Bui Ta Hoang Vu said that his departmentwill join hands with relevant organisations and agencies to organise cultural,cuisine, fashion and technology festivals in the coming time.
Furthermore, the city’s festivals will be nudged closer to domestic andinternational visitors through travel businesses, he said, adding that thedepartment is striving to meet the target of welcoming 7 million tourists in2017.
