Vietnamese trade counselors in the Americas gathered at a conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 18 to evaluate their work in the past time and discuss orientations and tasks in the time ahead, aiming to further promote the export of Vietnam's goods to countries in the region and the world.

A seminar on boosting cultural exchange between Vietnam and the Americas was held in Hanoi on August 4 by the Vietnam Institute of American Studies under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.

Vietnam welcomed 1.8 million foreign arrivals in January and February, a 36.6-fold increase year-on-year, according to the General Statistics Office.

Vietnam exported goods worth 8.21 billion USD to the Americas in January and spent 1.64 billion USD on imports from this market, resulting in a trade surplus of 6.56 billion USD, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

Two years after it came into effect, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) has helped Vietnam significantly boost its exports to other member nations and open the door to members in the Americas, which are bursting with potential, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai told a seminar in Hanoi on April 27.

The Americas remained some of Vietnam’s largest trade partners despite the adverse effect on commerce caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, heard participants at a conference organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), aimed at connecting Vietnamese firms with trade partners in American countries in Hanoi on September 25.
